Profile :

A one-year graduated position is available starting just after the selection process in Malaga (Southern Spain) at the University of Malaga. We are looking for candidates holding or close to hold a Ph.D. in computer sciences, bioinformatics, computational biology or statistics to develop a newly funded project to conceive high throughout bioinformatics strategies and set up and development of tools for “Next-generation sequencing data analysis (mRNA, microRNAs, gDNA resequencing and gDNA de novo sequencing)” in the project RIRAAF (www.bitlab-es.com/riraaf). Knowledge in programming, web application development, relational databases are required, and large scale biological data analysis would be an advantage.
The candidate must have at least three years of demonstrable experience in Bioinformatics and Biomedical Web Services integration, national and international projects coordination and excellence in mastering of the English language for acting as international representative of the consortium.
This project will deliver clinical, quantitative transcriptomic, proteomic and metabolomic data at high temporal resolution and for a broad range of biological, food and drugs allergic conditions.
Researchers at the BitLAB work at the interface of advanced computing applied to bioinformatics and biomedicine, with particular emphasis on genetic disease. Therefore the successful candidate would likely be able to interact with the HCH-IMABIS Clinical / Bioinformaitcs Center and other members of the RIRAAF consortium.
